Now that 2014 has begun and I have thought about what I want to accomplish this year, I started going crazy, making huge long lists on my bathroom mirror of things that I needed to get done. Then I started to avoid doing all those things because all it did was overwhelm me to the point where I didn’t even know where to begin. That is when I came up with this short, simple phrase to live by this year.
Do what you love, everyday.
2013 was a very exciting year for me and for our family as we welcomed our first baby, Grant, into our family. I adore him more than anything and I have loved the time that we have spent together these past 10 months.
In October- December of 2012, while I was pregnant with him, I spent a lot of time in the studio, working on my very first EP! It was the most incredible experience, that I will have to write about at another date. I promised myself once I had Grant that I would put a hold on the music and take some time to just be with him. To be his mom, and have that bonding time with nothing else to think about. I am so happy when I look back on this first (almost) year of his life, I have no regrets, I just enjoyed him.
These past couple months I have felt a bit lost, a little bored and quite a bit guilty that I needed something more. As I’ve realized how silly that is, I have to come to the realization that now is the time for me to get back into my music again. Music makes me feel inspired, it makes me feel rejuvanated, it makes me whole.
I plan to do what I love everyday,
And I love music.
So get ready for some new music coming your way this year! I can’t wait to share it with you!
